Peter Van den Kooy has over 20 years of experience providing planning, program administration, environmental permitting, and allied services in urban, suburban, and rural settings. He has provided these services to over 130 public sector clients and over 70 private sector clients in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and other parts of the United States. Mr. Van den Kooy has extensive experience in the full range of planning services for government clients, including but not limited to the preparation of master plans, redevelopment studies and plans, ordinance amendments, strategic planning for business districts and Urban Enterprise Zones (UEZ), feasibility studies and special planning studies, board representation, land use, environmental, housing, sustainability, resiliency, economic development, utilities, and transportation planning, community engagement, and related services. In addition, Mr. Van den Kooy has extensive experience in affordable and workforce housing planning and program administration. He has managed the administration of over 2,000 affordable housing units and has designed and implemented affordable housing programs for over 50 government clients. His experience also extends to planning, program administration, environmental permitting, and related services for private sector clients, where he has provided services on numerous residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects.
Mr. Van den Kooy has a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is a licensed Professional Planner in the State of New Jersey and a Member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He is also a certified affordable housing Administrative Agent and has an Affordable Housing Professional Certification from Rutgers University.
